How to Apply
For Single Payment Grants to Individuals
Applications are accepted from any formally constituted local group, such as Area Committees, Tenants' Associations, from all departments of the London Borough of Camden, Housing Associations, the National Health Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Camden Age Concern, and any voluntary agency or by any responsible person who knows the applicant and details their circumstances.
Applications may be made by letter or on the Trust's Application Form. Applications by letter will only be accepted if they include the following details:
- Client's name, age (preferable date of birth) and occupation.
- Details of ages and occupations of other household members.
- Address and telephone number.
- Type of accommodation, e.g. Council, private rented, sheltered housing, hostel.
- Whether applying for help to other agencies or charities and the result of such applications.
- The result of application to the Social Fund, and If no application has been made to the Social Fund, the reason why not.
- Household income, including details of the source of the income.
- Whether the household has savings, and why they cannot be used.
The application will be strengthened if details are given of the financial effects of disability on any member of the household. Grants are not normally made to individuals applying directly to the Trust unless they are Trust pensioners visited by the Trust's Social Worker.
For Kitchen Starter Packs
A limited number of packs are available for young people on state benefits setting up home for the first time in the Trust’s area of benefit. Contact the Trust office for further information.
For Christmas Hampers
A limited number of Christmas hampers are available for refugee and homeless families. Contact the Trust office for further information.
For Trust Pensions
Pensions of £10 per week are available to pensioners who can show exceptional financial needs. Applications may be made by any of the agencies described above under 'Single Payment Grants'. Applications must be made on the pension application form available from the Trust.
